Sînziana Păltineanu is a writer and researcher based in Berlin and working at the crossings of fiction- and history writing, queer feminism and librarianship. As an exophonic writer, Sînziana seeks to craft a deviant use of the English language. The predominant themes of their work have been queer feminism and writing from within and against constructs of nationalism. Sînziana is currently at work on a short story cycle.
Sînziana holds a Ph.D. in the Comparative History of Central, Southeastern and Eastern Europe from the Central European University. Among other awards and fellowships, Sînziana was a Reese Miller Scholar and Telluride Association Member at Cornell University (Ithaca/USA), a BAYHOST Fellow at the University of Regensburg (DE) and a Fellow for Literature at Akademie Schloss Solitude (Stuttgart/DE).
